WEEK 11 – Taxi/Uber
In Japan, taxis are known for being on time, clean and courteous. The opposite can be said for many taxi companies in the United States. Often overpriced, untrustworthy and dirty, the reign of taxis has dwindled and Uber (and similar companies) has become the preferred type of transportation in the U.S.. Usually cheaper (depending on the time), more efficient and much friendlier Uber has been dominating the hired transportation market. Uber can be especially useful for tourists or non-native English speakers who may have difficulty explaining where they want to go as you simply use navigation to tell your driver where to pick you up and where to drop you off. If you ever visit the U.S. or Canada be sure to try Uber!
